hack series 0.1
today was a pretty fun day with the matador knitting machine. i was able to start and create different techniques of laying down the yarn in order to create a knit. in the first image i cut out strips of yarn and laid them down one row at a time. i found though that once i took the knit off of the latch needles the stitches would fall a part when tugged on. image two starts to show one of my solutions to catch the stitches at the start off point of the knit. in this experiment i started playing with a combination of yarn and elastic thread. in addition i picked up a spool of 34 gauge bead wire in hopes that i could try to knit with it. the wire ended up breaking while i slide the cam across the needle bed. my hopes where to some how to try and lay out a potential strain of circuits. in the last image i tried using piano wire to start and end the knitting project off. i was not successful in finishing off the knit....hopefully tomorrow will bring some more play time.
